I recently had the honor of helping The Eve Center with their annual Voice of Victory fundraiser at the Sharonville Convention Center. The Eve Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healing and growth for women through biblical, no-cost, safe, and confidential peer counseling and training. This event is an open invitation to the community to join in on their mission to celebrate the voices of women that so often go unheard.
This event wouldn’t have been able to happen without the wonderful sponsors’ Crossroads Church, Nehemiah Manufacturing Co., Cincy Entertainment Services, GE, All Church, and Wallace Group Dentistry. It feels so good to be a part of a community where I can see local businesses and groups going the extra mile for their community. We have to support each other!
Voice of Victory consists of a dinner, vocal competition, and silent auction to benefit The Eve Center. The finalists in the singing competition are individuals who embody Ephesians 5:19.
Ephesians 5:19 says, “Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”
Let me just reflect on this verse and what it means to me. I choose what influences me, my family, and my brand. I have the opportunity to decide when I will enrich and motivate myself, even when I have “downtime.” As a mom and business owner, downtime isn’t what you think it is. My downtime is when I’m running errands, in the car, or knocking out items on my family’s to-do list.
I have found that I am my best self when I am constantly creating a space that invites worship, even if I am alone. I can focus and remember my purpose. Listening to spiritual music gives me a chance to give praise, even in the little things.
For me, when I have the honor of creating an event, this is my version of singing and making music from my heart to the Lord! It allows me to share the talents he has so graciously given me, with others. Voice of Victory was exactly that! While it was definitely work, it was refueling, God led and I believe wholeheartedly, it was pleasing to Him!
And to put the cherry on top, the amazing cause was my last event for 2021! Now here’s to all the holiday and goal setting content!!
